Alex Verner is an independent director known for crafting philosophical, visually striking documentaries that explore complex subjects with emotional depth and intellectual clarity. Beginning his career in wildlife television, he developed a patient, observational storytelling style, which now informs his approach to arts, culture, and technology-driven narratives.

His films include Christy Brown: Self Portrait (RTÉ, 2024), featuring Saoirse Ronan and narrated by Aidan Gillen, a revealing portrait of the artist beyond My Left Foot. He also directed Jack B. Yeats: The Man Who Painted Ireland, written by Colm Tóibín and narrated by Pierce Brosnan, as well as Cyborg Society, a documentary on artificial intelligence created with bestselling author Nina Schick. His work is defined by a distinctive blend of visual poetry, rigorous storytelling, and a commitment to capturing truth with nuance and cinematic craft.
