Alex Verner is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer known for his visually striking and emotionally resonant work. Blending thoughtful storytelling with a deeply visual, philosophical approach, his projects span documentary, automotive, AI, martial arts, and arts/culture. With a foundation in wildlife television, he brings a personal and immersive perspective to complex subjects, capturing both human and natural worlds with depth and nuance.

His films include Christy Brown: Self Portrait (featuring Saoirse Ronan, narrated by Aidan Gillen), Jack B. Yeats: The Man Who Painted Ireland (written by Colm Tóibín, narrated by Pierce Brosnan), and Cyborg Society, created with bestselling author Nina Schick. BACKGROUND

Alex’s career began in Southern Africa, working on blue-chip natural history films for National Geographic and the BBC, developing an instinct for cinematic storytelling in unpredictable environments. His ability to distill complex ideas into visually compelling narratives has since shaped his work across arts, martial arts, and artificial intelligence.

Beyond directing for UFC’s Countdown series, he has collaborated with Audi Sport and Imperial College London on pioneering A.I. content, leading to a credited paper in Nature.
